Nurturing kids to help them reach their potential
Willow Tree Chinese Preschool
At Willow Tree Chinese Bilingual Preschool we believe in teaching children to be kind, honest, and respectful through gentle guidance, encouragement, positive influence, and great examples, rather than through harsh discipline or punishment. We believe that children learn through hands-on experiences.
Bilingual Instruction
We approach each child as an individual with their own talents and one-of-a-kind needs. Our goal is to help your child meet the learning benchmarks for their development stages.
Hands-on Learning
We do daily projects involving problem-solving with the aim of giving children an introduction to critical thinking.
Early STEM Development
We prepare your child with a stronger math foundation starting from introduction to number recognition and 2-digit addition and subtraction and include fun activities to get kids interested in maths & science.
Our Philosophy
How do we approach teaching?
At Willow Tree Chinese Bilingual Preschool we believe in teaching children to be kind, honest, and respectful through gentle guidance, encouragement, positive influence, and great examples, rather than through harsh discipline or punishment. We believe that children learn through hands-on experiences. We believe that an ideal learning environment should be fun, and memorable, and help the children to grow and develop systematically and well-balanced in all aspects – physically, socially, emotionally, morally, and intellectually. We believe all children have unique gifts and potential. We encourage the participation and collaboration of the children and we respect and appreciate the ideas, suggestions, and creativity of each child. We design our activities carefully to stimulate children’s thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
How does Chinese immersion benefit our children?
We are here to enrich our children’s first educational experience and to prepare them for our globalizing world. We have developed an advanced academic program, and conduct our entire program in Chinese Mandarin. We believe that young children don’t “learn” a language by being taught language lessons, they acquire a language by being surrounded by it. In the process, they also absorb the culture and values that are the foundations of the language.
Our Mandarin immersion approach allows children to explore through academia, and play, and to experience every event as an opportunity to learn. The children will not only learn Mandarin but also develop a strong educational foundation on which to build and grow. Our teachers guide the children and provide them with the social and academic skills to excel throughout their future.
How do we interact with parents and families?
We believe parents and family play a critical role in the overall learning and development of a child. Parents are the children’s most important teachers and role models. We believe a great childcare program should be closely tied to the participation and support of the parents.
